What’s On in Worcester.

One of the things our guests often say is “We didn’t realise Worcester had so much going on.”
And honestly, that’s one of the reasons we love hosting here.

Worcester might be a smaller city, but it has a really strong events calendar all year round. Whether you’re visiting for work, a weekend break, a family trip or a longer stay, there’s usually something happening somewhere in the city (or just around the corner).

Here’s our local guide to Worcester events and festivals in 2026, broken down by season.

Spring is when Worcester starts to feel alive again. The days get longer, the riverside becomes busy with walkers, and the city centre slowly fills with pop-up events and markets.

This is the time of year when you’ll often find:

Spring is perfect if you want to explore Worcester at a relaxed pace, without the peak-season crowds, but still enjoy things happening around you.

Summer is hands down the busiest events season.

One of the biggest highlights nearby is the Upton Blues Festival, usually held in July just outside Worcester. It’s hugely popular and attracts visitors from all over the UK.

Within Worcester itself, summer often brings:

  • Outdoor performances and live music
  • River Severn activities and sporting events
  • The Three Choirs Festival, which regularly returns to Worcester Cathedral as part of its historic rotation

If you’re visiting in summer, we always recommend booking accommodation early, especially for weekends.

Autumn is one of our favourite times in the city. It’s lively but not overwhelming, and there’s a great balance between events and quieter moments.

A real standout is the Worcester Music Festival, usually in September. Hundreds of free live performances take place across pubs, bars and venues. It’s a brilliant way to discover local talent and experience the city properly.

Autumn also brings:

  • Theatre and arts events
  • Food-focused markets and seasonal fairs
  • University graduation events and student life returning

Winter is when Worcester truly comes into its own.

The Worcester Victorian Christmas Fayre is the biggest and most well-known event of the year. Held in late November or early December, the city centre transforms with Victorian-style stalls, festive food, music and entertainment. It’s busy, magical, and absolutely worth experiencing at least once.

Alongside the Fayre, you’ll usually find:

  • Christmas makers’ markets
  • Festive family events at The Hive and local museums
  • Seasonal food, drinks and New Year celebrations
